Optimism

You know..it is funny how you can be stuck in a situation which has so much fear, anxiety, stress, and hopelessness, but through it all you can find little moments that make the day seem wonderful. Like a tragic even in which a young boy was burned pretty badly all over his back..and the care of just giving him a piece of candy, and a bandage just to make him try to forget the pain he is in. At times I hate it here and wonder constantly why the fuck am I here. Then moments like those in which helping another justifies it all and I can sleep well..knowing I am making a difference.
Eric, what you see and what you do for your country and for humanity is molding you into a man that will be a great , compassionate and caring human being. We
hurt for your pain, and saddness of what you see there.
